Christina Rabe is the Executive Director and Therapeutic Area Head of Biostatistics for Ophthalmology at Genentech, bringing over 15 years of industry experience to the role. She joined Genentech in 2016 as a Senior Principal Statistical Scientist and has since taken on positions of increasing responsibility. Before leading the late-stage Ophthalmology portfolio, she headed a translational and exploratory biostatistics team, where she pioneered projects focused on developing high-value data assets and employing analytics to advance drug development and personalized healthcare.

With broad experience across diagnostics, biomarkers, and therapeutics, particularly in Ophthalmology and Alzheimer’s Disease, Christina specializes in the development and evaluation of prediction models and their practical application in clinical trials.

Prior to Genentech, Christina spent eight years at Roche Diagnostics in Germany, leading a group of biostatisticians focused on early marker discovery and companion diagnostics projects. She holds an MSc in Statistics from the Technical University Dortmund and a Doctorate from the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen, Germany.
